A cast member ending up in hospital with appendicitis days before the original opening night in October was the worst of a string of dramas to beset the show this year.
But the determined cast and crew will stage the play on Saturday night at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
The cast itself has had the challenge of maintaining both the rehearsal schedule and the enthusiasm for what has ended up being a long time between casting and performance.
There have also been a number of little hiccups along the way with a small section of the set rebuilt due to water damage after a roof leak, another piece rebuilt after it fell and had a hole put in it, a cast member’s car breaking down in Broken Hill as they were on the way back to rehearsal and a couple of family issues.
“I hope the theatre-going public in Dubbo will find time in their schedules and come along and support not just our group but also the performers who have stuck with the show and done such a lot of work for a one night only performance," director Rhonda Kerr said.
