Offers similar to the one in our photo have been circulating in recent days and weeks, offering giftcards and other rewards for people who click through links.
Retailers have come out to distance themselves from such scams, and Orana Local Area Command investigations manager Mark Meredith said it was vital to report suspected scams.
“The government has the ACORN website, which stands for Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network, and if you suspect you’re a victim, we urge people to report to that so it can be checked out,” he said
