They may have been missing Mitch Bower, Will Lindsay and Henry Railz but that didn’t stop South Dubbo from jumping into second spot on the RSL-Whitney Cup ladder on Saturday.

The Hornets stung CYMS at Lady Cutler 2, despite Cougars star Brock Larance making a pulsating 97 for his side.
He received little in the way of support though, with CYMS bowled out for 184 after winning the toss and batting.
Remarkably, they still had 17 of their allotted 45 overs remaining when the final wicket fell.
Larance was a one-man show early, belting the Souths bowlers to all parts of the ground.
Amazingly, his first five scoring shots were boundaries, and he finished with 16 fours and three sixes before he fell stumped to the bowling of Adam Wells three short of his century.
Adding to the dominance of the performance was the fact that when he fell, CYMS were 4-128 and he had scored 97 of those runs.
Unfortunately, nobody else could make a score of any significance for CYMS and their last six wickets fell for just 56 runs.
Justin Knudsen was the best of the Souths bowlers with 3-26 while Joe Coles recovered after being punished early by Laranace to finish with 3-61.
In reply, Souths struggled to 5-105, with only opener Josh Williams (41) doing any real damage.
But Scott Tucker (68no) ended any thoughts of an upset with an attacking innings to secure his side a valuable win.
“Brock dominated but it was good for us to pick up the points,” Wells said.
“We knew once we got him we could make some inroads but they still had a lot of overs left when we bowled them out.
“We haven’t had our best side on the field yet but we’re still getting results.”
