About 100 bikes and riders gathered for the annual Ulysses Dubbo Toy Run on Saturday, bearing gifts.
After a parade in the city’s centre the riders handed over the toys to local Salvation Army officers and volunteers.
Corps Officer, Captain David Sutcliffe, said it was his first experience of the Dubbo Ulysses Toy Run.
“This has been so amazing, the generosity they have shown is truly overwhelming,” he said.
“These toys will go a long way towards giving hope and joy to so many local children.”
The Salvos are in the middle of the Christmas Cheer appeal and still accepting donations of cash, toys and non-perishable food, all to go to local people.
“We’re making up food hampers again this year, so if people want to donate, please drop into the welfare office or the family store,” Captain Sutcliffe said.
“We’ll be taking cash donations at Bunnings, Dubbo Square and Orana Mall.”
Toys can also be dropped into Hit 93.5, The Newcastle Permanent Building Society and Westpac over the next week or so.
“We’re particularly keep to find gifts for older children and teenagers as they tend to be overlooked,” Captain Sutcliffe said.
“And thank you to everyone who made the toy run such a success, just incredible.”
Cash donations can also be made online at Salvos.org.au, at Westpac or by calling 13salvos.
