The Dubbo Fireworks NYE Party will be held at Apex Oval, starting at 5pm.
More than 8000 people are expected to attend, Mr Judd said, and if the figures are the same as last year, one-quarter of those will be from outside the Dubbo local government area.
Mr Judd has promised the fireworks, with Steve Lee from Inland Fireworks as the technician, will be bigger and better than any other year.
“I can’t give too much away but let’s just say it’ll be something that Dubbo has never seen before,” he said.
“The start of it will go off with a bang. A very big bang.”
Dubbo’s New Year’s Eve display was the best fireworks show in regional NSW, Mr Judd said.
The event was also the biggest one day annual event in the Central West, he said.
The fireworks will go off at 9pm, but there’ll be plenty to keep everyone entertained in the lead up.
There’ll be chill out, airconditioned areas for people who need to cool down, food stalls, market stalls, big piles of sand for children to play in, the water soaker area, facepainting and a range of other activities.
I can’t give too much away but let’s just say it’ll be something that Dubbo has never seen before. The start of it will go off with a bang. A very big bang.

Cost for adults to attend the event will be $2 and $1 for children under 14-years-old.
All money on the night will go back into the community, Mr Judd said. The main charity recipients for the next two years will be the Volunteer Rescue Association, however smaller groups such as the Wellington Scouts and the Dubbo Junior Rugby Club would all be receiving donations, he said.
While there are already about 80 volunteers who will be working on the night, Mr Judd said there was a need for more people to put their hand up to help the committee.
Anyone interested in volunteering on the night should contact Peter Judd through the Dubbo Fireworks Facebook page or call 0437 847 263. As many volunteers as possible were needed, the organiser said, to fulfill a variety of rolls.
The community can also countdown to the New Year’s Eve celebrations on the website dubbofireworks.com.au.
