SHARE YOUR IDEAS FOR NEW COACH SERVICE
I encourage our local community to provide their ideas for a new coach service which will operate between Bourke and Brewarrina, and Dubbo. People from Bourke, Brewarrina and towns along the way will be able to travel safely and comfortably to Dubbo, spend up to four hours in town and return home later that afternoon. Starting next year as a trial, a new day-return services between the centres will be included on the NSW TrainLink coach timetable. The additional NSW TrainLink services will create new and better opportunities for Barwon community members to travel to the regional centre of Dubbo for medical and business appointments, shopping, recreational activities or to catch-up with friends and family. Currently, if you’re travelling from Bourke or Brewarrina to Dubbo, you have to stay overnight or organise your own return travel as there’s no day return option. This additional service will provide more flexibility. Public feedback on the service options will be important for confirming the timetable and operations for the trial period.

INTERIM REPORT ON TRAVELLING STOCK RESERVES
The NSW Government remains committed to preserving a viable, well-maintained and connected network of Travelling Stock Reserves across NSW. Almost 900 submissions were made to the NSW Government’s comprehensive review of the Travelling Stock Reserves (TSR) network. An interim report was released today. A full understanding of how TSRs are used today will inform the Government on how they should be preserved and managed in the future. There are more than 6,500 TSRs on Crown Land in NSW, covering about two million hectares, with 75 per cent in the western division. Most leaseholders in the western division said TSRs on their properties have not been used for travelling stock for more than a decade due to better and cheaper transport options. But submissions from the central and eastern division outlined how TSRs remain important for droving, Aboriginal cultural heritage, recreation and biosecurity. The Review has created a comprehensive map of TSRs.
The TSR review’s final report will be released early next year. The interim report can be found at: www.crownland.nsw.gov.au/crown_lands/crown_reserves/stock_reserves
DISABILITIES IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR
In commemoration of International day for people with disability, the NSW Government announced Jobs for people with disability: A plan for the NSW public Sector. I welcomed the10 year plan that aims to double the number of people with disability working in the public sector from 2.7 per cent to 5.6 per cent by 2027.
The NSW Government is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. There are a number of ways the public sector can embrace the plan, such as delivering more internships and graduate roles for people with disability, and ensuring accessibility is front of mind in the design and fit out of new or refurbished workplaces. MONEY FOR BARWON ROADS
Last Friday, I was thrilled to announce our Barwon electorate will receive $22,492,419 as part of the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Road Funding – Round 3. This investment will significantly reduce costs to business and industry, while driving economic growth and improving the lives of people across in our electorate. Economic growth in our areas relies on agricultural commodities, industrial products and natural resources being able to move to market efficiently. That is why it is so important to ensure our country roads make it easy for freight vehicles to get to where they need to be.
