The Apex Oval facility changed to be called Caltex Park back in 2014 after council signed a deal with the petroleum company, but will revert to its former name until another sponsor can be found.
“The signs of Caltex Park will be covered from today as the naming rights contract has come to an end,” council’s Manager of Recreation and Open Space Ian McAlister said on Friday.
“Caltex had a three year contract with the former Dubbo City Council as a corporate sponsor of the East Dubbo Sporting Complex including Apex Oval which was formalised in 2014.
“Council would like to thank Caltex for their sponsorship of the oval for the last three years, which is considered one of the region’s top sporting facilities.
“We are now is now in the exciting position of being able to seek out potential new partners and is currently developing expressions of interest to identify a new sponsor.
“For the time being, the park will default to the previous name of Apex Oval.”
