In each of the side’s first game for the season, the Hornets and Tigers will meet under lights at No. 1 Oval.
Last season, the Tigers finished as the minor premiers but brilliant performances from Will Lindsay and Adam Wells helped the Hornets claim the title.
Each of the Hornets and Tigers have enjoyed steady starts to the RSL-Whitney Cup campaign but the short-form offers something completely different.
A big part of the Tigers’s success last season was down to the work done by Mat and Steve Skinner but with those two out injured and Charlie Kempston no longer with the club it will be a new-look team.
Jordan Peacock will be key at the top of the order, as will Dan Holland while Bailey Edmunds and Dale O’Donnell will be tasked with keeping the Hornets batsmen quiet.
Captain Mitch Bower will again lead the charge while Henry Railz, Mat Finlay and Wells will also be key.
Bower and Railz are both fresh from playing for Western Zone at the Country Championships while the match will also offer wicketkeeper Corey McDean his Megahit debut.
The new season of Twenty20 action began last week with the Western Plains Automotive Cougars knocking off the Chirsties Crackerjacks.
Plays starts at 6.30pm on Friday.
