The march has deliberately been scheduled later in the year to allow the LGBTIQA ( Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Questioning and Asexual) community the opportunity to be “supported and celebrated” regardless of the survey outcome.
Leading agency in the organisation of the march, headspace Dubbo, expects greater participation in the event that attracted 500 marchers in 2016.
“I think everyone will come together after the long two months we’ve had and it’s just going to be another fantastic day,” spokesman Nic Steepe said.
Expect to see plenty of “sparkles and glitter” at the November 18 march themed Hollywood Glitz and Glamour.
Marchers will assemble at the corner of Bultje and Bligh streets at 10.30am for an 11am start.
They will march up Bultje Street and down Macquarie and Church streets to Ollie Robbins Oval where a community fun day will begin about noon.
