Shanks stated last week the match, which was held at No. 1 Oval last season, wouldn’t go ahead and the SCG Trust released a statement on Wednesday reiterating that, saying there was issues relating to “availability circumstances regarding the SCG XI's marquee players”.
Former Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark was one of the big-name players unable to make the trip this weekend.
While it is a blow, the SCG Trust confirmed the match would be rescheduled to “ensure we can raise ample funds to benefit Ryan Medley, the local footballer who suffered a career-ending neck injury”.
The SCG Trust will work with Cricket NSW CEO Andrew Jones and the Dubbo Regional Council to confirm a new date.
