Western finished as the best country side at the competition while it also scored two draws and three narrow losses against powerhouse city-based teams.
The Dubbo contingent was made up of Brooklyn Crain, Logan Beckingham, Jesse Spang, Jack Young and Thomas Busch.
The Western (WNSW) side, playing an elite competition at the prestigious Valentine Park synthetic pitches, impressed when downing Riverina and drawing with the other regional-based side, Southern.
WNSW drew with Metro West and Metro Far North while it suffered a heartbreaking loss to Metro Far North, who scored in the final minute.
Western was then defeated by the talented Metro East and the eventual winners, Metro South.
It capped off a big season for the Dubbo boys, who were part of the side which won the WNSW title while they also played in the Country Cup.
