The 52-year-old man was working at Burthong Road, Nymagee about 12.20pm on Monday when the semi-trailer he was working on fell off the blocks it was propped on, and onto his chest.
NSW Police, NSW State Emergency Service (SES) and Ambulance NSW paramedics were all called to the scene.
Ambulance NSW said “a couple of units” responded and arrived at the scene to find the man “alert and breathing”.
He had sustained possible chest and hip injuries, Ambulance NSW said, and was also suffering back pain.
It is not believed the man was trapped for “any period of time”.
NSW Police confirmed the man’s injuries were non life-threatening.
He was transported by road ambulance to Cobar Airport, before being airlifted to Dubbo Hospital by helicopter.
Police said SafeWork NSW was now investigating the incident.
