The workshop will be held at Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre from 2.30pm on Friday.
Founder of Active Seniors Taylor Harrison has launched the workshops in response to a study that revealed 2.5 million people aged over 65 years of age were not meeting national physical activity standards.
Mr Harrison set up Australia’s first exercise centres for people over the age of 60.
“Many people over 65 are aware they need to exercise, but are unsure of what to do or are scared of being judged in the traditional gym environment,” he said.
“The key to good health in later years is remaining physically active and engaged in the community. The more people are engaged, the better they fare mentally”.
Mr Harrison has “partnered with NSW Seniors Card” in launching the workshops.
