A contingent of 10 people from Dubbo travelled to Hobart earlier this month for the Sing Australia National Gathering.
Sing Australia Dubbo members renewed old friendships with people from far and wide and built new bonds based on their common interest.
The weekend away included a fancy dress dinner and singing at a number of locations including outside the Tasmanian Parliament House, accompanied by bagpipes.
The tourists from Dubbo enjoyed a catch-up with Martin, a member of a Melbourne Sing Australia group.
“We met him on a tour in Norfolk Island, he recently came to Dubbo for our Quamby concert, then we met up again in Hobart,” Myra Wells said.
“This shows the lovely connections that Sing Australia has.”
Dubbo’s Steve Aughey took his place as the master of ceremonies for the gathering’s Saturday night event.
The weekend finished with some performances and Sing Australia national director Colin Slater singing with his daughter Gian Slater, a noted jazz singer.
People interested in singing are welcome to visit a Sing Australia session, held every Monday night, at the Dubbo Bridge Club in Bultje Street from 7.30pm.
