Thirteen years of schooling is drawing to a close for close to 400 Dubbo students who will begin their Higher School Certificate (HSC) written exams on Monday.

The exams will run for more than three weeks and are the final hurdle for the year 12 students from Dubbo College (188), St John’s College (137), Dubbo Christian School (18) and Macquarie Anglican Grammar School (18).
They have already spent almost 12 months completing assessment tasks which will contribute to their final grade, and some have also completed practical tests.
Another 39 full-time students from the Dubbo School of Distance Education, while an additional 246 students who have studied one course through the distance school will also sit their exams.
All the schools wished their students the best of luck, with the staff at St John’s offering a prayer the students could say to calm their nerves.
Dubbo College senior campus principal Andrew Jones urged all students to “make the most of the time prior to exams to study hard and work diligently towards your goals”.
“The students and staff of Dubbo College wish our HSC candidates all the very best for the exams and the future.”
The Dubbo Christian School’s Kate Bain said she had every confidence in her Drama students’ preparation.
“They have applied themselves admirably, and I wish them all the best for the day,” she said.
“I’m so proud of you,” said maths and extension maths teacher Janet Robins.
“Your commitment to your studies has been admirable. As you begin your exams, I’ll be cheering you on and praying for you all. All the best.”
They exams wrap up on Tuesday, November 7.
