Dubbo Regional Council will present the 2017 awards at Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre on November 23.
The annual presentation marks Dubbo’s gazettal as a village on November 23 of 1849.
Winners in 2016 were Tina Beggs, Jason Blake, Michael Brien, Bruce Buchanan, Mandy Bye, Lorraine Callaghan, Margaret Carolan, Jennifer Chenhall, Bill Donnison, Heather Exelby, Dianne Medley, Joyce Morris, Andrew Murray, Mick O'Neill, Annette Priest, Ann Sharpe and Joan Yeo.
Dubbo Regional Council mayor Ben Shields is urging community members to nominate a citizen who makes an “outstanding contribution to the community”.
“Dubbo's greatest asset is undoubtedly its people and the Dubbo Day Awards are a chance for us to recognise residents who have contributed to the fabric of our society by consistently going above and beyond to help others in the community,” he said.
“Volunteers are an essential part of our community and most people know someone who gives their time to make Dubbo a better place.
“There is no shortage of possible nominees and there is no better way to give them a pat on the back than to honour and recognise them with a nomination for a Dubbo Day Award.”
Nominations can be made on the council’s website.
Alternatively, a form can be downloaded from the website, completed and returned.
