Dubbo rainfall this October may break a run of dry months

October 2017 may interrupt a run of below-average monthly rainfall at Dubbo.

At 9am on Friday a total of 40 millimetres (mm) of rain had fallen at Dubbo City Regional Airport this month. Average rainfall in the city during the month of October is 43.8mm.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s seven-day forecast for the city as of Friday morning included a 60 per cent chance of it getting up to 2mm of rain on Thursday, October 19.

Each of the first nine months of 2017 have delivered below-average rainfall, except for March with 223mm. It now holds the record for the wettest March in Dubbo since 1994.

This year January provided 14.8mm of rain , February 1.6mm, April 9.4mm, May 5.2mm, June 9.2mm, July 3mm, August 20.6mm and September 6.2mm.
