They will be looking for a volunteer VIP for the exercise at the open day of the 1/19 Royal New South Wales Regiment.
Unit recruitment liaison officer, Warrant Officer Class 2 Adam Bisset, is promising that the open day will be a blast.
The 1/19 Royal New South Wales Regiment open day is being hosted by serving Army Reserve members and Australian Defence Force Recruiting.
Australian Army and Australian Air Force cadets will take part in the event from 10am to 2pm in Kokoda Place.
Dubbo and district residents are being encouraged to visit the depot and learn about being part of the Army Reserve and career opportunities in the Australian Defence Force.
The open day’s program includes the VIP extraction that Warrant Officer Bisset reports will require a volunteer.
“Unfortunately, they have to sign a waiver, just so we know they’re of sound body and mind and able to participate,” he said.
The open day’s program also features a noisy “urban assault” demonstration.
A mock building in which soldiers will “engage targets” was drying out on Thursday after overnight rain.
Visitors will see a display of military vehicles and live demonstrations of equipment, weapons and Army communications.
