The club’s six-race TAB program was called off before a race had been run, with stewards citing weather and track conditions as the cause.
A tweet was put out by the stewards panel at 12.38pm, and at that stage just 10mm had fallen in and around Dubbo.
It was soon followed by multiple social media posts by participants hoping to stop others from arriving and needing to turn back around.
But with persistent, and at times strong, rain falling through the afternoon the decision was made more than an hour before racing was scheduled to commence.
The washout means the next harness racing meeting in the central west will be held at Bathurst Paceway this Wednesday night.
An eight-race program is scheduled, with the first event to be run at 6.02pm and the last set down for 9.40pm.
