The new semi-trailer that will travel to remote and regional communties was in the city on Thursday morning before travelling on to Bourke.
Youth Off The Streets believes that re-engaging young people with community, education and employment opportunities in their area is the key to preventing these young people from engaging in negative activities and suffering the effects of prolonged social isolation.
Father Chris Riley, CEO and founder of Youth Off The Streets was part of the event.
“Youth Off The Streets community Outreach Programs have already achieved great success in engaging disconnected young people across communities in need,” he said.
“We currently work alongside communities in NSW and Queensland by providing Outreach Programs, but there is still a great need to recognise and support disadvantaged young people, especially those living in isolated or remote communities.
“Youth Off The Streets will provide the young people in the these areas with fun and engaging activities and a variety of support systems in a safe environment, we believe this will help them connect with others and the community.”
The semi left Sydney on Monday and travelled to Canberra for its official launch.
It then travelled to Cowra, Wellington and Dubbo before the last stop at Bourke.
