But, residents have been urged to establish which ward they are in before going to vote on Saturday.
Election returning officer Fiona Prentice has said for pre-poll voting officials have been able to use electronic rolls to immediately look up voter information but on Saturday the rolls would be on paper.
Voters who know their ward can immediately join the correct line, Ms Prentice said. Those who don’t will need to have their details checked before lining up. Wards can be checked at votensw.info, choose ‘enrol to vote’. Then ‘check or update my enrolment’ and use the ‘enrolment verification facility’. Call 1300 135 736 if there are issues.
Ballot papers will accommodate ‘ticket’ differences in each ward. Wards with multiple groups will have above-the-line voting where a single group can be chosen, with teams appearing in columns on the left side and un-grouped candidates in a column on the right. Wards with one group will have no above-the line voting but that group will appear in the left column, with un-grouped candidates on the right. A ward with no groups will have candidates in a single column.
