Returning officer for the DRC election Fiona Prentice has said in pre-poll voting officials have been able to use electronic rolls to immediately look up voter information but on Saturday the rolls would be on paper.
Voters who know their ward can immediately join the correct line, Ms Prentice said. Those who don’t will need to have their details checked before lining up.
She said all polling places will take votes for all five DRC wards.
Voters can check their ward at votensw.info, choose ‘enrol to vote’. Then ‘check or update my enrolment’ and use the ‘enrolment verification facility’. Call 1300 135 736 if there are issues.
She said voters’ roll updates received after July 31 will not be included for the election but voters will still be able to vote.
Officials expect “increased numbers” of people pre-polling as Saturday draws closer. Anyone unable to vote on Saturday can still pre-poll. The early voting centre is open Thursday 8.30am-5.30pm and Friday 8.30am-6pm. Polling places will open 8am-6pm and are at: Ballimore Public School (PS); Buninyong PS; Dubbo College’s Delroy and South campuses; Dubbo North PS, Dubbo South PS; Eumungerie PS; Geurie PS; Lourdes Hospital and Community Health Service; Mumbil PS; Orana Heights PS; Stuart Town PS; Sydney Town Hall; Wellington PS - Gould League Hall; Wellington Scout Hall; Wesley Centre Dubbo; Wongarbon PS and Yeoval Central School.
