A MEMBER of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) has been charged after police located a loaded firearm and an elaborate hydroponic cannabis set-up at a home in Oberon.

The man was refused bail when he appeared in Bathurst Local Court last week and is due back in court on Monday.
Earlier this year, the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor commenced investigations into the cultivation and supply of cannabis across the Central West.
Following extensive investigations, Strike Force Raptor, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed a search warrant at a home at Oberon about 6.20am on Wednesday.
During the search, officers located an indoor hydroponic cannabis set-up across a number of rooms.
Police seized 146 cannabis plants, about 4.5kg of cannabis, counterfeit currency, and mobile phones.
They also found a loaded 12-gauge single-barrel shotgun and ammunition.
A 45-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Bathurst police station.
He was charged with enhanced indoor cultivate cannabis for commercial purpose, supply cannabis, conduct drug premises, found on drug premises, acquire firearm – subject to prohibition order, firearms found at premises – subject to prohibition order, not keep firearm safe, possess ammunition – subject to prohibition order, and possess counterfeit money.
The man, who is a member of the Comanchero OMCG, was refused bail and appeared at Bathurst Local Court on Thursday where he was formally refused bail to reappear on Monday.
Inquiries are continuing.
