Unless the Lions face the greens, Orange City will enjoy a substantial advantage if they can land a play-off at the Chooks’ Nest, thanks to the lack of travel time for supporters.
That exactly what Orange City will be gunning for in Saturday’s colts qualifying final against Dubbo Kangaroos.
A win will grant the young Lions a crack at the minor premiership-winning Bathurst Bulldogs in the following week’s major semi-final at Endeavour.
Easier said than done against a side the Lions have had some trouble with in 2017, Roos won both encounters during the regular season.
The Dubbo side claimed a comfortable 29-12 win on home turf and then scored a 29-24 victory at Pride Park.
Saturday’s final, at Forbes, kicks off at 10.50am.
