Tremain was one of 30 players included in the Vics squad gunning to claim an unprecedented fourth consecutive JLT Sheffield Shield title and the JLT One Day Cup in the 2017-18 summer.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a break-out summer last year, scoring his maiden Sheffield Shield century while picking up 42 wickets to be third on the wicket-takers list last summer.
He also debuted in the Australian one day international side that toured South Africa last February.
