The annual celebration of creative pursuits will return this October with both some old favourites and fresh new concepts.
Earlier this year the festival received $20,000 funding from Destination NSW to assist with marketing to outside the immediate local area and for a new website.
The new online presence was launched on Monday, with DREAM Festival committee chairwoman Anne Field encouraging people to check it out.
“We were fortunate enough to receive a grant from Destination NSW and that’s enabled us to update our website, so that’s why we’ve launched it today,” she said.
“We’re really excited about the platform and of course Big Blue Digital who’ve been our sponsors have helped facilitate that.
“So we’re really pleased with the outcome and we hope people will go to that as their first point of contact.”
As the committee gears up to deliver the festival excitement about this year’s program is growing.
“We’ve got a new big weekend with a lot of jazz, so it’s the Big Band Riot,” Mrs Field said.
“So that’s going over the whole weekend of the 14th and 15th [of October], with a few lead-up events as well.
“Then on the 21st and 22nd we have the markets and the Lights + Laser show, as well as Zoocoustic out at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
“There are quite a few other events sprinkled in the middle of it to.
“So watch the website and you’ll see more events come online as the final details come together.”
Sponsors and volunteer committee members also attended the website launch in the centre of the city.
The festival has the support from major sponsor, Macquarie Credit Union, and Dubbo Regional Council is also a government partner.
“We are the Macquarie Credit Union Dream Festival, so we can’t do it without them,” Mrs Field said.
“And without the support of Dubbo Regional Council who have been funding us since the beginning.
“Thank our group of volunteers because our committee is all volunteers and they do an excellent job.”
The festival covers a wide range of entertainment, arts and music.
DREAM 2017 will launch on the afternoon of October 12 with Pianos on the Pavement at the Dubbo Rotunda from 4pm to 7pm and is free.
The Talbragart exhibition will be launched at 6pm of the same day and will continue to October 22.
Sushi in the Shoyoen Gardens, Music + Markets, Lights + Lanterns and Zoocoustic will take place throughout the month are also on the program.
