And the chilly winds that set in at the end of the week didn’t stop residents and visitors soaking up the activities on offer.
While the town marked the 200th anniversary of the arrival of explorer John Oxley, St Patrick’s Catholic Church celebrated its Centennial and Burrendong Dam turned 50.
So it was all action in and around the town starting on Friday with a function at the dam.
As part of Saturday’s Bicentenary activities, free bus tours took people to the dam and the Wellington Caves.
The town staged a Lions of Waterloo re-enactment, a trivia contest and other entertainment that night.
St Patrick’s celebrated its 100th year on Sunday.
