Polly Turnbull took out two categories in the competition, earning her a “special mention” from its organisers.
‘Work Horse’ won her the colour category, and ‘Squeak’ the black and white category, for primary-aged children.
The Life and Light competition is run by the Western Local Land Services (LLS) and Western Landcare for amateur photographers.
This year 185 entries were received with finalists coming from NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
Entries in eight categories were taken in the Western LLS region and linked to the theme of ‘healthy landscapes – healthy food’.
Other winners include ‘Storm rolling in’ in the colour open category by Annalee Monds from Goodooga, and ‘Windows’ in the digitally-enhanced category by Simon Seppelt from Jamestown, South Australia.
The winners shared $3900 in prize money. All entries can be viewed at www.lifeandlight.com.au.
