Council considered the tenders for three jobs at the Extraordinary Meeting of Council on Wednesday: the construction of Elizabeth Park car park and detention basin, the design and construction of Dubbo City Regional Airport runway asphalt surface upgrade, and the construction of a nature-based playground at the Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden.
Council resolved to decline to accept any tenders for the construction of the Elizabeth Park car park as they exceeded the funds allocated for the project. Instead the work will be undertaken by council.
It was also resolved not to accept the tenders received for the construction of the playground, again choosing to undertake the work themselves. Investigations will begin to find outside streams of funding for the playground.
Meanwhile, the tender for the design and construction of the runway was accepted.
