After winning the 2017 Real Estate Institute of NSW Orana Division Novice Auctioneers Competition Mr Walkom will represent the region at the NSW final of the Novice Auctioneers Competition in Sydney on Thursday.

Mr Walkom said he has been practicing hard, in the car while driving around town, in his kitchen at home and around his family and friends.

“I’m feeling excited, a bit nervous, but mainly excited. I’m keen to go really well.”

Mr Walkom said he was ‘pushed into’ taking part in the Orana Division competition, but once he had started found it really enjoyable.

On Thursday night Mr Walkom will auction a weekend in Dubbo including two nights at the Savannah cabins at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, entry to the Old Dubbo Gaol and meal vouchers from the Outlook cafe and the Commercial hotel.

All proceeds from the auction will go towards the McGrath foundation.
