Haylee Fuller took the overall honors in the under-15 women’s division general classification by 40 seconds, with her cousin Zara Fuller a creditable seventh overall one minute and nine seconds behind.
So often the runner up, Danny Barber turned the tables on club mate and fellow rising star Dylan Eather to take the under- 15 men’s general classification victory by two seconds, with Lachie Clark in 15th (+4 minutes), Mitch Hines in 17th (+5 minutes 2 seconds) and Brodie Wheeler in 21st (+10 minutes 34 seconds).
Imogen Fuller finished third in the general classification for the under-11 girls, with twin sister Makayla finishing fifth, narrowly ahead of Emily Hines in sixth, while Zac Fuller was strong in finishing third in the under-13 boy’s general classification, with Trent Hines finishing an impressive sixth in that same division.
Emily Hines was the winner of the Best Young Rider in the under-11 girl’s division, while Zara Fuller finished second in that category in the under-15 women’s division.
Dubbo Cycle Club’s junior squad will look to fire on the weekend of the August 12 for the NSW Junior Road Championships at Wagga Wagga.
Orange’s Ben Anderson took out Saturday’s 13th round of the Dubbo City Toyota Road Racing Series on the tough North Geurie course (24.2km Handicap).
Anderson (+11-minute handicap) held off Chris Couper (+19.30 minutes), Ray Wheeler (+11 minutes), Mike Ticehurst (+19.30 minutes) and Darrell Wheeler (+15 minutes) to claim victory in a time of 56 minutes 56.240 seconds (average speed 31.61km/hour).
Couper recorded the fastest time for the event, completing the course in 37 minutes 46.730 seconds (average speed 38.43km/hour) while Simone Grounds was the fastest female, with a time of 42 minutes 40.879 seconds (average speed 34.02km/hour).
Nigel Christmas (+17.30 minutes), Craig May (+19 minutes), David Gerrish (+19 minutes), Brent Sweeney (+13.30 minutes), Simone Grounds (+15 minutes), Julia Mannix (+11 minutes), Sarah Gordon (+11 minutes), Chris Brook (+11 minutes), Tom Mannix (+13.30 minutes) and Jeff Sargent (+13.30 minutes) finished sixth to 15th respectively.
Round 14 of the Dubbo City Toyota Road Race Series continues this Saturday with a 38km handicap on the Mogriguy course, while the Junior Club Championships will be held of the Sheraton Road course on Sunday.
