The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development’s Airline On Time performance report for June shows the flights in the state departed on time in 84.2 per cent of flights. Fights arrived on time 82.8 per cent of the time.
However, Dubbo’s figures were slightly down on the average.
QantasLink and Regional Express flights between Sydney and Dubbo arrived as scheduled in 81.3 per cent of flights.
Rex flights were the more punctual of the two at 85 per cent, while QantasLink had 76.7 flights land at the Dubbo tarmac when planned.
When it came to departing from Dubbo for Sydney, flights were punctual 81.7 per cent of the time.
Rex again performed better of the two airlines. Rex left Dubbo on time in 84.5 per cent of flights, while it was 78.3 per cent for QantasLink.
There were eight cancellations during the month from Sydney to Dubbo – four apiece for Rex and QantasLink.
Meanwhile the Dubbo to Sydney had seven cancellations. Four were on QantasLink flights and three were Rex.
Across all the NSW routes, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines was the most punctual regional airline with 87.7 per cent of flights landing on time. It was followed by QantasLink at 86.5 per cent and Regional Express at 81.3 per cent. The same airlines were also in the top three for their departure times.
The highest number of cancellations came from QantasLink at 2.6 per cent, followed by Tigerair Australia at 2.1 per cent and Regional Express at 1.7 per cent.
Dubbo City Regional Airport missed out on a spot on the top ten for on time arrivals or departures.
