It was the vital piece inside the modified Delorean which allowed Fox’s character of Marty McFly to bounce from the time his parents met, to the future and also right back to the wild west, each trip involving hilarious hijinks.
Veteran Forbes trainer Barry Molloy might not be keen on involving himself with the time time-space continuum but he will be hopeful his gelding sharing a name with that piece of technology will help shoot him back into the winners’ circle at Warren on Tuesday.
Flux Capacitor will debut for Molloy, who hasn’t had a winner since April, at Warren after making the move from the Mornington stables of Lee and Anthony Freedman.
The three-year-old has scored one placing from four starts and will jump from from barrier one with Greg Ryan in the saddle in Tuesday’s opening event, the Maiden Handicap (1000m).
Ryan will have to contend with the top weight in the event.
The leading hoop has a strong book of rides as he chases Jeff Penza at the top of the NSW Jockey Premiership leaderboard.
Penza has 131 wins this season while Ryan is third with 123 while Brenton Avdulla sits second.
Ryan will combine with Tamworth trainer Sue Grills in the Cattleman’s Hanidcap (1400m), taking the ride on Exotic Art. Exotic Art finished eighth in a benchmark 65 at Grills’ hometown last-start but prior to that she won a benchmark 55 race, one of the five wins in her 19 starts.
The Cattleman’s Handicap shapes as the day’s best race with Coonamble trainer Cec Hodgson saddling up A Magic Zariz while Dubbo duo Connie Greig and Garry Lunn will have Our Sarastro and Strathaird respectively.
Strathaird, to be ridden by fellow in-form jockey Rachael Murray, has four wins and four placings from his past eight starts.
Trainer Cameron Crockett, also enjoying plenty of success lately, has last-start winner Moss My Name going from gate one.
Tuesday’s eight-race TAB meeting at Warren starts at 12.40pm with the Cattleman’s Handicap fourth up at 2.25pm.
