The South Dubbo Men’s Shed held their annual Car Boot Sale on Palmer Street, while next door Amy Rutherford showcased some of her delicious baked goods at her new storefront.
Both were a great success.
Ms Rutherford sold out of almost everything within the first 30 minutes of opening her doors.
South Dubbo Veteran's and Community Men's Shed secretary Brian Bolton said he was very pleased by the turnout at the car boot sale.
“I wouldn’t even know ho many people came through the door but at one point we had more than 100 people there,” he said.
“All the stall holders seemed quite happy. A couple of stall holders sold out.”
Mr Bolton said the money collected from the day, which included the car boot sale and a barbecue, would help the Men’s Shed pay their rent.
The money would also be used to benefit those in the community who needed help with small jobs, Mr Bolton said.
It was also an open day for the Men’s Shed and Mr Bolton said he was hoping new members would sign up after seeing the facility on Saturday.
At the moment there were more than 30 members, he said.
Anyone interested in joining the South Dubbo Men’s Shed could all in on Tuesdays or Thursdays, the secretary said. No special skills are required.
