Throughout September, Mr Chapman will be holding 19 first aid courses to teach cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

The courses will be held every Monday and Wednesday night from 6pm, as well as Saturdays from 8.30am and 1pm. They’ll run for about 3.5 to four hours, Mr Chapman said, after which participants would receive their certificate. 

“CPR is the cheapest, easiest live-saving thing that you can do,” Mr Chapman said.

By scheduling the courses on nights and weekends, Mr Chapman said he hoped they would be more accessible.

With the opportunity for up to 400 people to learn CPR, Mr Chapman said lives could easily be saved.

There was no excuse for someone not to learn the skills, he said.

The courses are open to anyone aged 16-years-old and above.
