The victory has basically assured the men in orange of the minor premiership with four rounds remaining in the regular season.
The real interest is in the battle for second and third, with Wanderers holding a one-point buffer over Macquarie United.
Wanderers’ loss, coupled with a 6-0 win by United over the battling Orana Spurs, places even more emphasis on this Sunday’s battle between the duelling sides.
In the womens first grade competition, there’s a three-way tie atop the ladder with RSL 79s, Macquarie United and Wellington Wildcats each on 26 points.
In last Sunday’s matches Macquarie United managed a 4-1 win over the Dubbo FC women, while RSL 78s flexed the muscle with a 13-1 win over East Dubbo United.
Wellington enjoyed a bye weekend.
