Jeffrey is one of two leading teenage cricketers from Dubbo, the other being Brock Larance, to link up with the Cooper Cricket brand.
Jeffrey is part of the NSW Combined High Schools (CHS) side which will tour the likes of London, Birmingham and Leicester, playing 11 days of cricket.
The squad will also take part in a number of tourist activities, with Lord's, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Wimbledon all set to be visited while there is a chance of sitting in and watching some of the England v South Africa test at Trent Bridge and a Formula 1 race at Silverstone.
Jeffrey, who has hopes of moving to Sydney this year to play grade cricket there next season after helping RSL-Colts to the RSL-Whitney Cup title in 2016/17, stated he was pumped to experience the game in another country.
“I’m really keen,” he said.
“It’s going to be a big month over there and I’m really looking forward to playing some cricket again and starting my season early, which is something I love doing.
“We play against most county teams, under 19 counties are fairly strong, so it will be good for a team mostly from country NSW to go over there and put it to them.”
The off-season isn’t any less hectic for Larance, the young gun who dominated last season’s RSL-Whitney Cup.
The powerful batsman departs for Mackay next week to play in the Australian Indoor Cricket Junior Championships but he’s also linked up with the ACT under 17s academy while the Western Zone academy pre-season starts soon.
He was one of a number of Dubbo players who will play for the Cyclones.
Both players stated how appreciative they were for Cooper Cricket’s support while Trent Hemsworth, a distributor for the company was delighted to have two such talented players link up with the brand.
“It’s great to have Marty and Brock onboard,” he said.
