“The Dubbo Service NSW Centre will reopen for customers at 11am today (Thursday). Repairs are complete to minor damage after a motor vehicle collided with the building yesterday,” a spokesperson said.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the closure and thank customers for their patience.”
UPDATE: Service NSW in Dubbo will remain closed on Thursday, but it is hoped it will open on Friday.
“We’re working to get Dubbo Service Centre back trading as soon as possible, aiming to reopen by Friday,” a Service NSW spokesperson said.
“Many transactions and services, such as registration renewal, are available online at www.service.nsw.gov.au or via the Service NSW app. Customers can also complete transactions by calling 13 77 88.”
EARLIER: A car has run into the front of Dubbo’s service NSW building on Macquarie Street, causing significant damage and forcing the closure of the premises.
At approximately 8.30am on Wednesday, a dual cab four-wheel-drive came through the roundabout on the corner of Macquarie and Bultje streets, before losing control, hitting a parked car and going through the front of Service NSW.
The power had to be cut because the supply was located close to where the vehicle hit.
Acting Inspector, Sergeant Nigel Howard said police were still investigating the accident but said it appeared the driver just lost control in the wet weather.
“At 8.30am this morning a vehicle has lost control on Macquarie Street. It went over the gutter and into the [Service NSW] building,” Sergeant Howard said.
“Noone was injured in the crash and police would ask that people slow down in these wet conditions and drive to the conditions.”
A spokesperson for Service NSW said the centre would be closed as a result of the damage.
“The Dubbo Service NSW Centre will be closed for today, Wednesday 28 June, after a motor vehicle collided with the building causing minor structural damage,” the spokesperson said.
“Engineers will conduct assessments on the site today before a decision is made to reopen.
“Many transactions and services, such as registration renewal, are available online at www.service.nsw.gov.au or via the Service NSW app. Customers can also complete transactions by calling 13 77 88.”
