Gate takings from the evening were donated to the appeal, which is raising funds for Medley, who sadly suffered spinal injuries while playing football for Dubbo CYMS in Wellington recently.
He remains in Royal North Shore Hospital but is making slow progress.
While the meeting was a huge success off the track, there was also some good racing.
Club president Shayne Stiff took the training honours with a winning double courtesy of Packie Keeping and Simon Keeping.
Packey Keeping started $5.90 before taking out the Sending Our Support to Ryan Stakes (516m) by a nose, while Simon Keeping started odds-on before saluting by four-and-a-half lengths.
The Dubbo club races again on Thursday, with an 11-race program set to commence at 11.57am.
