The Peachey Shield and Richardson Cup are named in honour of two of the greatest footballers to emerge from Dubbo in recent times.
David Peachey, an elusive fullback with magic hands, played 257 first grade games in the ARL/Super League/NRL, comprised of stints at Cronulla and South Sydney.
He also represented NSW and was part of the Australian side during the Super League year of 1997.
Russell Richardson was a powerful centre who played 120 matches across three clubs (Cronulla, South Sydney and Newcastle) and was also part of the Australian Super League side.
Play gets underway at Caltex Park from 9.30am.
