Dubbo Regional Council’s draft 2040 Community Strategic Plan team will head downtown and across town to invite contributions, starting at Dubbo Square on Tuesday.
Community members wanting to have their say on long-term priorities for the region can drop into one of the five locations.
The input will be added to the mix of ideas gathered during community consultation that started earlier this month.
The 2040 plan will be the council’s overarching document from which major capital works, long-term actions and annual priorities are established.
Reviews of past plans show common themes of liveability, economy, infrastructure, housing and environment, the council reports.
“We encourage young and old and everyone in between to have their say,” council city strategy services manager Steven Jennings said.
The consultation team is also gearing up for a second round of community summits at the weekend.
On Saturday community members are invited to attend the Dubbo session at the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club starting at 12.30pm.
On Sunday it will be Wellington’s turn, with a summit to be held at the Wellington Soldiers Club from 12.30pm.
Mr Jennings said there would be time for new ideas to be discussed at the second round of summits.
The sessions would also be taking ideas from the first round of summits held on June 17-18 and other consultation and moving them into the next phase of planning, he said.
The council is also continuing to hold sector-specific workshops and more details about the program and how to register can be found on the council’s website.
