The Heat went into Saturday’s match with clubmates Fusions Fire as the undefeated competition leaders and that status was maintained in style, courtesy of a resounding 63-24 victory.
It marked six straight wins for Fusions Heat and means the side sits two points clear of Fusions Johnies.
With the season now heading into a two-week hiatus for the school holidays, Heat is well-placed and has beaten every side in the competition.
Fusions Fire, coupled with St Diamonds loss to Fusions Giants, has now slipped off the pace and a gap has started to form between the top two sides and the rest of the competition.
Fusions Johnies strengthened its hold on second spot with a 44-36 win over the Narromine Bombers and now sits four points ahead of both Fusions Fire and St Diamonds.
Fusions Giants’ tight, 46-39 win was an important one as it moved the side within one point off the top four.
Macquarie Hornets, at the bottom of the ladder without a win to its name, had the bye on Saturday.
In B Grade, Fusions Magic moved into top spot after the match of the round clash with the Nyngan Cougars.
Fusions Magic, who defeated the Cougars 47-34, sit two points clear of the Cougars heading into the holiday break.
All Rawson Homes Premiership competition resumes on Saturday, July 15.
