It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year. As we head into the mid-year recess, planning for coming events and hosting residential schools keeps the campus humming along.
We welcome community groups to use our campus facilities, if we can accommodate them around the timetable availability. To make bookings enquire to Mr Bart Sykes at CSU on 6885 7385 or bsykes@csu.edu.au.
We will host the first artist’s public exhibition in our revitalised space by local Aboriginal artist Mr Mal Morris on June 26.
Thirty-six students in the UCWE Indigenous Police Recruitment Our Way Delivery (IPROWD) group will be at the university until July 21.
CSU Foundation Day will be on July 19. We’ll all be wearing red!
CSU has recently sponsored Dubbo CYMS women’s league tag, the Dubbo Stampede on August 27 and Dubbo Netball Association.
A full-house of around 100 community members and staff attended the recent Exploration Series public lecture on May 29.
Dr Aden Ridgeway delivered a thought provoking, insightful and inspiring speech, with much conversation afterwards.
The lecture celebrated and acknowledged former Dubbo resident Mr William Ferguson and other local Indigenous leaders for their significant contributions resulting in the success of the 1967 Referendum.
I was also impressed by the wonderful turn out for our recent National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2017 event organised by staff member Robert Salt. My thanks to Robert and other staff who helped set up this event to show CSU recognises the importance of reconciliation.
Scholarships, prizes and Deans’ Awards were recently presented, with 16 scholarships and nine prizes awarded to Dubbo students.
The evening celebrated and recognises the outstanding achievements of students, and the contributions by local businesses, organisations and individuals whose generosity makes these sponsorships and awards possible.
The Biggest Morning Tea at CSU in Dubbo raised over $200. Thank you to all staff and students!
