The Country Girl Management (CGM) team will be at Orana Mall on July 14 to 16 for their model search and confidence campaign.
There will be a number of workshops and photoshoots before participants take to the catwalk on Sunday.
Young women from eight to 35-years-old have been invited, said CGM event coordinator and model scout Cassie Gros.
“We’re not looking for anything in particular. We’re searching for all shapes and sizes,” Ms Gros said.
The aspiring models will be split into two categories on the day: juniors, eight to 13-years old and seniors, 14 to 35-years-old. The winner of both category will progress through to the National Final at the Gold Coast in December.
But Ms Gros said there was more to the model search than just being crowned the winner. The model scout said an important part of CGM’s time in Dubbo would be spent building confidence.
“A good photograph can really do wonders. We want people to admit when they like a photo and build themselves up, and build up each other as well,” Ms Gros said.
“It can be a scary thing for girls to sign up for. We had one girl who locked herself in the car and didn’t want to come out. But we’re not scary, we don’t look like supermodels.”
Modeling could be really intimidating without confidence, Ms Gros said.
For those who did embrace the scouting, there was a world of opportunities, she said. From being in music videos to appearing on Australia’s Next Top Model, Ms Gros said their finalists had gone far.
In 2015 Rachel Wykes won the Country Girl Management model search and confidence campaign in Dubbo. Ms Wykes has been signed as a model and recently competed in Miss Universe.
