Connie Greig's Naoko nominated for Benchmark 55 at Bathurst after three wins in past five starts

A record of four wins and 10 placings from 43 starts might not be the kind of statistics which make people sit up and taken notice but there is more to Connie Greig’s Naoko than meets the eye.

Three of those wins and three of the placings have come since the mare made the move from Paul Perry’s Newcastle stable to that of Greig at Dubbo.

Making things even more impressive is the fact those three wins have come in Naoko’s past five starts.

She will look to continue her fine form at Bathurst on Friday as one of Greig’s seven nominations for the eight race meeting.

Nominations were released on Monday morning with Naoko put forward for the Bathurst RSL Club Benchmark 55 Handicap (2008m).

One-hundred-and-thirty-eight nominations were received on the whole, with final fields to be released on Wednesday afternoon.
