Punters who observed the outstanding presentation of Clipaholic in the mounting yard were keen to take the $21 on offer for the Bill Perrett, Inverell trained galloper.
Adjustment to the 1400m in the Cup after finishing second over 1930m at Narrabri was successfully handled by Clipaholic, with Jodi Worley in the saddle.
Queensland visitor More Of The Zaim ($2.70 favourite) and the Walgett trained Quietly Confident set the pace before Clipaholic swept to victory over Emerald Fortune (Kaylee Kirkwood, $8) and Dubbo galloper Kingtantes (Chris Williams, $5), trained by Garry Lunn.
Jodi Worley also won the Walgett Quoits Club Class 1 Handicap (1300m) on the $4.40 equal favourite Elmotino for Gunnedah trainer Sally Torrens.
Tamworth’s Jane Clement, who won the Gulgong Cup last week with Desert Marshall, was at Walgett with Parliament House (Mikayla Weir, $2 fav.), which won the Gateway Hotel Motel Maiden Handicap (1400m).
Taking a break from medical treatment in Sydney, Coonamble trainer Ian Holland was at Walgett to prepare Latitude Lad for the Dubbo City Toyota Benchmark 50 Handicap (1000m).
Following her win on Somebody at Dubbo the previous day, Eleanor Webster-Hawes was responsible for a good exhibition on Latitude Lad ($10) which ran behind the leaders before powering home to beat Maximoo (Chris Williams, $6) and Vonnida (Michael Hackett, $2 fav.).
Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb continued a run of success with a double at Walgett, War Groom and Miss Ready Now.
Clayton Gallagher piloted both to victory, War Groom (Clayton Gallagher, $4.60) in the Walgett RSL Benchmark 50 Handicap (1600m) and Miss Ready Now ($3 fav.) in the Woodham Petroleum Maiden Plate (900m).
