Mick Little was diagnosed with a serious skin cancer in 2016 and after surgery, and treatment it spread throughout his body.
Mendooran’s John Hunter and other mates of Mr Little are holding the fundraiser.
It starts with bowls at 10am followed by an auction of various donated items, including a guitar signed by Lee Kernaghan at 4:30pm.
Mr Little’s daughter, Michelle Little, has also set up an online fundraising page.
She said in a post to the page that before her father became too ill, he ran the family wood business with his wife and son.
Mick was being cared for in Dubbo’s Lourdes Hospital, Ms Little said in a recent update to the page.
