Rue has been a regular for Dubbo trainer Barry Lew and has driven 20 of Karloo Damajor’s 21 starts but it will be fellow Bathurst reinsman Nathan Hurst in the gig on Wednesday night.
Rue will drive Mister Haywood for Phil Bourke in the Group 1 Feeds Pace (1730m), a horse he driven many times in the past.
That led Lew to turn to Hurst, another of the region’s leading drivers.
Karloo Damajor, coming off a fifth placed finish in Friday’s President’s Cup at Dubbo’s Carnival of Cups meeting, will go from gate six in the $6360 race. Karloo Damajor, son of Art Major and Karloo Ronnie, has scored eight wins from 21 starts.
Steve Turnbull, as always, will be another to watch in the race despite his gelding Sabrage having not placed in four starts since winning in early April.
