The NSW government and Dubbo Regional Council chipped in $50,000 apiece for the work, which was developed in consultation with the nearby schools and Apollo House.
One of the things most requested by the public was for a handball court, council’s manager horticultural services Ben Pilon said, which has now been marked out.
There’s also new play equipment a new shade sail and a community meeting place.
Mr Pilon said Apollo House- which had been fantastic during the consultation- in conjunction will Artseeds had also decorated the backboards of the basketball court.
Aboriginal elder Riverbank Frank Doolan urged the users of the park to show it the utmost respect. Mr Doolan said he didn’t want to see it vandalised or damaged.
Traditional dancers performed at the meeting space before some basketball and a barbecue.
