Dubbo Show Society secretary Sue Hood said there were 16,500 tickets which were sold for the adults and children older than five-years-old.
Adding in the young children, who were able to get in for free, Ms Hood said she believed there would have been at least 20,000 people.
Ms Hood said the crowd numbers across the three days were “excellent”.
“It’s more than expected. We thought we’d get to about 15,500 like the last few years,” she said.
The show secretary said she believed one of the reasons for the boost in numbers was the reduction in ticket prices from $12.50 to $10 on the Sunday.
The 2017 Dubbo Show ran from Friday, May 26 until Sunday.
